Ken Burns chronicles the lives of Theodore, Franklin, and Eleanor Roosevelt, three members of the most prominent and influential family in American politics.
Interweaving their individual stories into a single narrative, the seven-part documentary follows the Roosevelts for more than a century, from Theodore’s birth in 1858 to Eleanor’s death in 1962. Commentary from historians such as Doris Kearns Goodwin complement archival photos and film footage, while Meryl Streep, Paul Giamatti, and Edward Herrmann voice Eleanor, Theodore, and Franklin. Also includes 13 bonus videos, a featurette on the making of the documentary, and deleted scenes with an introduction by Ken Burns.
